Masterclass :

Imagine opening a black pepper pod — and tasting not just heat, but the journey of traders across ancient seas, the hands that harvested it, the tables it graced.

The Spice & Heritage Cooking Class transforms Lampung's rempah into a masterclass of flavour, history, and craft — guided by Executive Chef Toni Azhari, whose 25 years in the world's finest kitchens have taught him one truth: food is memory made edible.

In this two-hour session, you'll learn to work with Lampung's signature spices — the lada hitam (black pepper), serai (lemongrass), cinnamon, and star anise that once drew traders from across the world.

Chef Toni will walk you through traditional techniques: how to build a proper spice paste, balance heat with sweetness, and honour the ingredient rather than overpower it. You'll prepare a heritage dish together and taste the difference between raw spice and intentional seasoning.

Leave with the knowledge, the recipes, and the confidence to cook Lampung's stories at home or your own restaurant.

The Sacred Art of Jajan Pasar

What if Your Grandmother's Hands Held the Entire History of a Land?

Watch Oma Lanny Rustan fold a petulo — and you're not just watching a snack being made. You're witnessing decades of kitchen wisdom, the memory of markets past, the confidence of a woman who has kept Lampung's sweetness alive through her fingertips. Petulo, the humble glutinous rice cake wrapped in banana leaves and steamed to golden softness, is more than jajanan pasar. It's proof that the most powerful culinary legacies are often the quietest ones.

In this masterclass, Oma Lanny will teach you the art of petulo from scratch — how to prepare the dough so it's tender, how to fold the filling (palm sugar and coconut) so every bite is balanced, how to work the banana leaf like it's a conversation between your hands and the plant. You'll learn the rhythm, the intuition, the small adjustments that separate a petulo made by a maestro from one that's merely adequate.

Leave with the recipe, yes — but more importantly, with permission to carry forward what Oma Lanny has guarded for a lifetime.

The Value of Origin - Positioning Local Products in a Global Economy With Junanto Hendriawan and Helianti Hilman

What Makes a Local Product Worth More Than Its Price Tag?

In a world that values efficiency over story, speed over soul, how do small producers from Lampung, Java, and across the archipelago claim their worth? This isn't a question for economists alone.

It's a question for anyone who believes that origin matters — that knowing where something comes from, who made it, and why, fundamentally changes its value.

In this masterclass, visionary sociopreneur Helianti Hilman and Pak Junanto Hendriawan will walk you through the practice of positioning local products in a global economy — not through marketing tricks, but through clarity. They'll explore how to tell the true story of your product: its soil, its makers, its connection to place. How to price with dignity, not desperation. How to build markets where origin isn't a niche — it's the standard.

Whether you're a producer, a buyer, or simply someone who cares about what we consume and who benefits from it, this conversation will reshape how you think about the products in your hands.

Sharing Session with Women Forest Defender

One Earth Canvas Foundation is rooted in a single belief: that culture and ecology are inseparable. You cannot preserve one without preserving the other.

The rempah that built Lampung's identity grew in forests. The spice routes that connected our ancestors to the world depended on land health. The dancers, artisans, and food makers who gather at Pesenggiri Festival are all, in their own way, guardians of the ecosystems that sustain them.

In this sharing sessions, we will be having Women Forest Defenders to share their experience for protecting their forest.
